As the name suggests, the painting has captured the historic Chain Bridge in Budapest during an Autumn Day. It was a quiet afternoon and there was gentle breeze throughout the Danube. Along with the calmness, the light and shadows around the bridge have given a mystic look to it that also draws us to the glorious past!

  • Md. Mahmudul Hasan, an artist from Bangladesh, was born in 1982. He is a man of multifaceted creativity and that was flourished in his early childhood. Drawing, painting, crafting, writing and reciting poems are his much-practiced fields from the childhood throughout his academic life. He won many regional/divisional awards in different fields throughout that period. But his creativity remained suppressed when he entered in the corporate world in 2007. After completing BSS (Hon’s) and MSS in `Social Welfare’ from the University of Dhaka, he started his career in the corporate sector.

Presently he is working in a private commercial bank in his country as an Investment Manager. Though he leads a very busy corporate life, his creative mind was never changed and it was just hidden beneath the hard surface. When the COVID-19 crisis forced the world into a temporary halt at the beginning of 2020, Mahmudul Hasan was also forced to stay at home for few months. There were no office works, no school duties and the leisure became a burden. Then he took his brushes again and started to paint. At that time, the artist was re-born in him and the journey continued.

He participated in different exhibitions around the world. Within a very short period, he won international awards. He is also featured as ‘Cover Artist’ on the Art Book, published by Landscape and Floral Art Contest & Artbook Program, Istanbul, Turkey in 2024.

Mahmudul Hasan loves the watercolor most but sometimes he works with other medium. The immense world of watercolor allures him much. It’s subtleness, freshness and sometimes the uncontrollable predictions make the medium so appealing to him. From his intense love for watercolor, he always tries to participate in the international watercolor exhibitions, i.e.; exhibitions arranged by American Watercolor Society, International Masters of Watercolour Alliance, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and many more. He is an Associate Member of American Watercolor Society. Hasan always makes experiments with watercolor in many different ways. So, his works do not become stagnant in a particular way but they always evolve to further stage. As such, his works ranges from realism to impressionism as well as to abstraction. Whatever format he uses, he always maintain strong compositional base. He always observes the works of world known watercolor artists namely Joseph Zbukvic, John Slaminen, Dusan Djukaric, Alvaro Castagnet, Stainslaw Zoladz, Michał Jasiewicz and many more, to get inspiration.

His paintings mainly capture landscapes and cityscapes of many different locations from his country. As Bangladesh is a land of rivers and waterbodies, many of his paintings represent the beauty of the waterbodies and coastal lines of it. Still life, floral works, abstracts and calligraphy are also his scope of works. His paintings focus rhythmic arrangement of elements found in the nature around us that varies in compositions, shapes, forms, colors and light settings. He is in love of shadows full of humor that brings out the light – the life. He always wishes to leave behind something memorable one day.
