This piece embodies the contrast between delicacy and strength. Fragility represents something seemingly vulnerable, yet it holds the power to protect itself with prickles – a symbolic boundary between the world and the inner self. The dynamic interplay of colors, from vibrant reds and oranges to cool blue-green hues, emphasizes the harmony of opposites: passion and calm, fragility and protection, chaos and order.
This artwork invites the viewer to reflect on how even the most delicate things can contain inner resilience. Prickle Fragility celebrates the beauty of human vulnerability, transformed into strength and the ability to withstand life’s trials
Prickle Fragility
Magdaléna Chytková.
I am a self-taught artist who began painting before the pandemic, while also pursuing amateur theater. When the pandemic brought our performances to a halt, my creative instincts found a new outlet in visual art—a medium I had long admired and occasionally explored. This shift marked the beginning of a deeply fulfilling artistic journey.
My work is inspired by my children’s fearless approach to creativity, naïve art, and the beauty of imperfection. Flowers are my main subject, and I explore their forms through mixed media, combining brush pen drawings, watercolor, and acrylics.
Through my art, I aim to distill the complexity of the world into simplicity and elegance, creating pieces that bring joy, peace, and hope to others. As a homeschooling mother of four, I paint during stolen moments of quiet, finding solace and mindfulness in the act of creating.
Supporting my art means supporting a vision of simplicity, joy, and authenticity in a world that often feels overwhelming. Each piece I create is not just an expression of my creativity but also an invitation to connect with the beauty of life’s imperfections.
