  • Brecz Vera.

A mother of two, I was born in Budapest in 1979, as the child of a graphic designer and an architect. Presently I am a postgraduate Arts student at the University of Szeged.
Ever since childhood I naturally admire, love and respect different forms of art, including drawing, painting and analysing the architectural aspects of old buildings.

Already as a child I was drawn to philosophy and religious topics such as the meaning of life, the self and similar questions going beyond the pragmatic everyday life.

After the divorce of my parents, one of the most renowned goldsmith restorers in Hungary, the well-respected József Eredics, became my stepfather. For many years I worked at his side, first as his assistant and later as a goldsmith. I was involved in the following projects:

    • Jászberény/Catholic Church/1990
    • Dohány Street Synagogue/2004
    • Páva Street Synagogue/2005
    • Kazinczy Street Synagogue/2008
    • Jászberény/Catholic Church/2009
    • Tiszafüred/Catholic Church/2010

To this day I am fascinated by gilding and working with gold as a material. On one hand gold is one of the most timeless materials in the world, which requires expertise, respect and humility as it opens, reflects and illuminates the space.

On the other hand aureate is perpetual, unique in its symbolism having an important role energetically. The color gold symbolizes the highest level of knowledge, the wisdom gained
after synthesizing many experiences, as well as the highest degree of self-knowledge.

After graduation, I continued my studies at the School of Visual Merchandising, along with continuous studies of drawing at various art schools. I started working for several companies with their visual image, and applied design After graduation, I continued my studies at the School of Visual Merchandising and studies of drawing at various art schools. I started working for different companies within image design and application.

Around this time, I became more invested in yoga and the sacred geometry which
often appears as a theme in my works. For me, the experience of flow in yoga and the creative process within art are very much one and the same, taking you into a certain nowness where space and time cease to exist.

In 2007, I started painting experimenting with the application of gold smoke, silver and metallic sheets on different textures which has remained a central focus of my creative process until today.

Since 2017 I am teaching children in basic art skills, drawing, painting and creative thinking emphasising the human being, the highs and lows, we experience, emotions and the relation between man and world.
