The artwork titled "Sand" is made from jute fabric. Its composition is centered around the middle part, where the elements are densely arranged, creating a focal point. From this central area, the structure gradually spreads out towards the edges, giving the impression that the elements are dispersing like sand. The texture of the jute and its natural shades evoke associations with sand, adding a sense of depth and space to the piece. The overall presentation is a dynamic yet harmonious composition, with the central focus drawing the eye while the elements gently scatter towards the edges.
Sand
Anna Wywiał.
An architect by education, an artist by
passion from Łódź, creating her own reliefs made
of jute fabric.Art has always played a key role in my life. I paid
most attention to works related to materials and
textures. Looking at the works of Jagoda Buić, a
Yugoslav artist who creates, among others, monumental installations made of tapestries or Magdalena Abakanowicz, I came to the conclusion that working with fabrics gives me a huge opportunity to express my emotions. I appreciate the fabric
for its rawness, large format and, above all, for the
structure it offers. My fascination with materials is undoubtedly influenced by the city I come from.
Łódź, once famous for its thriving spinning industry, gave me a ready-made idea in which direction
my artistic activities should go.
Numerous visits to museums and a
trip to Mexico, during which I encountered
ethnic works made of string, assured me that
fabric is the raw material I want to work with.Nature also has a huge influence on my work.
I strive for my art to always somehow refer to
the harmony that nature offers us. I want
them to evoke a feeling of peace and encourage simple reflections on life.Hence, I chose jute fabric. Original, raw and at
the same time warm material due to its color.
Fully natural, but at the same time allowing
for some modifications.I would like to invite you to my unique world of
jute reliefs. I hope that it will be a good, pleasant journey, full of inspiration and, like me, you will become convinced that jute fabric is a truly unique raw material in its simplicity.
